Re: Imagination with Rebecca Cordes and Plus One Jazz, featuring Kara Walton

I am honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with the AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Elevator Project. The Elevator Project is an arts initiative whose mission is to grow the visibility and impact of local performing artists in ways that enrich and benefit the community.

For this special concert, I’ll be performing with my band Plus One Jazz Group, as we reimagine favorite tunes from the silver screen, the Great White Way, and American Top 40 - painting them onto a colorful canvas of soulful jazz.  We’ll be joined by guest vocalist Kara Walton.

Also featured is a cameo performance of solo piano jazz from my 2024 album, American Blue, which celebrates Rhapsody in Blue’s centennial and the many diverse voices of the blues.

With jazz inspirations that range from Schubert to U2, Stevie Wonder to Rodgers & Hammerstein – you won’t want to miss this unique concert.  One night only!

Tickets: $25.

Album Release Concert

Please join me as I release my solo piano album, American Blue. In recognition of the 100th anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue’s premiere, American Blue celebrates the influence of blues on classical and jazz music in America during the early 20th century.  Selections for the recording feature solo piano compositions by names that may be familiar – such as Ellington, Gershwin, and Copland – and those that may be less familiar – like Florence Price and Mary Lou Williams.  Together, the selections on the recording draw a vibrant picture of American music and those who contributed to it.

Reservations encouraged. (214) 953-3067.
